The CITB Test was introduced in 1995, at the same time as the CSCS Cards. This is also known as CITB Health, safety and Environment Test. This test was created to ensure that all individuals working in the construction industry have a basic understanding of health and safety regulations and practices. The test is regularly updated to ensure that the knowledge and safety regulations are up to date and in line with the latest industry standards. The CITB Test is now considered an essential requirement for anyone working in the construction industry in the United Kingdom.
The CITB Test is a mandatory exam for anyone looking to obtain a CSCS card. This exam is designed to assess an individual’s understanding of health and safety regulations that are relevant to the construction industry. The test takes 45 minutes and consists of 50 multiple choice questions which must be completed within a certain time limit. Only after passing the CITB Test, any person is eligible for a CSCS Card.

The test is based on the Health, Safety and Environment Test Book and is conducted by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). The test must be completed in 45 minutes. Individuals who pass the test will be issued a CSCS Card which is valid for five years.
The CITB specialists test covers topics contained in the Operatives test as well as relevant questions in the chosen specialist area. The pass marks is 90%. The test covers topics such as health and safety regulations, risk assessment, working with others, and the use of tools and equipment.
This CITB Test covers section around Legal and management, Health and welfare
General safety, High risk activities, Environment, Specialist activities.
The pass mark for this 92%. Candidate has to answer 46 correct answers out of total 50 questions.
