• Understand the test format: The CITB Operative test is multiple-choice and consists of 50 questions. If you want to pass, it is necessary to answer 45 questions correctly. The test covers various topics, including general health and safety principles, working at height, manual handling, electrical safety, fire safety, construction site hazards, and emergency procedures.
• Get a copy of the official revision guide: The official revision guide covers all of the topics covered in the test. It also includes practice questions & answers.
• Take a revision course: There are several revision courses available online and in person. These courses help you to learn the material and to practice answering test-style questions.
• Join a study group: Studying with other people can help you stay motivated and learn from each other.
• Practice answering test questions: There are many practice tests available on our website, online and in the official revision guide. Practicing answering test questions will help you get used to the test format and identify any areas where you need to focus your revision.

• CSCS Green Card (Labourer): If you have passed the CITB Operatives Test and are working in a general labourer or operative role, you may be eligible for the CSCS Green Card. This card is for those who perform basic construction tasks and general labour on construction sites.
• CSCS Red Card (Apprentice): Apprentices in the construction industry can obtain a CSCS Red Card, which signifies that they are in a recognized apprenticeship program. It is temporary and usually issued for the duration of the apprenticeship.
• CSCS White Card (Construction-Related Occupation): Some individuals in construction-related roles that do not fit into the other categories may be eligible for a CSCS White Card. This card is for workers who have a construction-related occupation but fall outside the typical Green, Blue or Red Card categories.
